My morning trip to try to place prints to sell led me to a new local coffee shop that I had never been in before. They have art from lots of local artists hanging on the wall. I inquired about it, with samples in hand, and got a wall spot for the entire month of August lined up. I need to choose 10 prints to matte and frame for this showing. Any suggestions or input as to which 10 prints I should use would be greatly appreciated... I would like to use 5 black and whites and 5 color, while not using too many of the same types of images. I would like to have a very diverse group of prints on display...

Galleries usually prefer a uniform format/work. While you and I may have personal preferences, it may not be a bad idea to consider your more serial work (i.e. floral macros, steam locomotion etc.), mounted in an equally consistent format.
The theory behind this is, that a) a serial form encourages focus and study without unduly taxing tolerance for differing aesthetics and subjects and b) a consistent format allows for an easy arrangement fitting variable space/lighting conditions.

I agree with this completely. Unfortunately, I don't really have enough images that fit a single theme to execute this just yet. Maybe in the future I will, and I definitely hope to. If this was an 'art gallery' I would definitely be pursuing that, but since it's just a coffee shop that hosts local artist work, I want to let my first appearance there show more diversity....

Painted Horses------Great shot for those who love those carnival rides and I know people who collect cariousel horses.
Bluesman ll---------Good shot for those musicians out there.
Verbum Sapeinte-----I think this will stand out among the others because of its style and tones.
Thunder Struck------My boys and husband like this shot. I think you will catch the eye of the want-a-be biker.
Two tone tonic------Definitly original and an eye catcher.
Bridge of sighs ll--I really like this shot.
Murrays Mill l------Since this Mill is from around your area I think they would be very interested in buying it.
Crayon Gallaxy------I think you are getting the viewers to look beyond cliche's and into the world of abstract. It might also catch the parents eye too.
Liberty and Justice-I think this is a shot that people from the US would be very impressed with.
If I were exhibiting your prints to sell them I would use -

Breathe V - for the same reasons as Vineyard Viper.
Union Square - Because of the local interest during a season aspect.
Liberty and Justice - because of the patriotism angle.
Bluesman II - for music lovers, it is more abstract and will appeal to those looking for something different.
