i took a slew of last minute shots this evening, and ran them through PS - ending up with a few that i batted about before settling on another loser :)

i fiddled with the colors and levels like i usually do, and was surprised with the amount of pixelation i was seeing when that final "sharpen" step --- i attributed it to the tweaking i had done with the white levels, and either toned down the tweaking or lessened the sharpening ...

anywho, as i submitted my shot (at 4 minutes til deadline - too late to reshoot) and read the EXIF data, i saw that my ISO was set to 1000 instead of 100 --- DUH, no wonder

that'll teach me

You're not alone, I've done that several times. Fortunately my ISO only goes up to 400 so things weren't too bad.

stuff happens! :-) I took a bunch yesterday, and then discovered my res was set on 640 X 480. ?????????

Friend I was with took several "landscape" shots with macro setting on.

Rough day, huh!

You blew it spiderman! Wish you hadn't. Sorry. You brought up a couple of issues that might be worth investigating.Would you care to expand on your mistakes and enlighten the rest of us as to how we might avoid such mishaps in the future? I love you Spider, but get humble and say something that will help us from making the same mistakes.

my 'clarity of vision' shot in the transparency challenge was also the victim of my being a hurry - i had to go on a trip and didnt have much time to get my shot.

i'd gone to an aquarium the previous day and boosted my iso to max to avoid using the flash.

i forgot to change it back and took the eyeball shots at max iso, which is a LOT grainier than min ISO on my camera.

maybe it's a good idea to make a checklist of all the possible things to remember to set, and then refer to it when taking 'critical' images.

all part of the fun of being a photographer ; )
