I had some problems a few days ago printing images, and I hoped someone who knows a little about printers could explain how it works.
I printed a few photos at work to put on the otherwise naked walls, and people seemed to like that except for the quality of the images. The ones I printed were resized to 800x600 in 72dpi, and the prints looked horrible.
I later changed the original photos to 210 dpi, thinking that would lead to prints with better resolution. But the photos were instead printed with the pixel size instead of the dpi (if this explanation makes any sense), so they didn't fit on one paper. I then changed the printer dpi from 300 to 600, and that made them fit.
And now, the question(s)...
Did I misunderstand the dpi tutorial when I unchecked the resize square?
Was the dpi irrelevant since I made the first print attempt from IE (with a 72 dpi limit)?
I hope I'm not sounding too confusing. I did get the prints I wanted, but I wonder if I really have to change the dpi setting on the printer (I printed the 'real' versions with quickview plus)
