As I see it, direct sunlight has hit the lens. This may produce a lot of reflections where the bright light hits the fronts and backs of the various lenses that make up one composite lens that we usually call 'the lens'. Such a reflection can start to be a new light source of its own, inducing re-iterating light spots on the picture, like a trail of 'suns' that sometimes turns up. About the yellow discoloration: I suppose that this is due to a hard shadow of the lens-side on the front element. The way to prevent this from happening is not to have the sun directly in the lens, and use a shade to prevent direct sunlight on any element of the lens. You can see how this happens if you look into your lens while the sun (or another bright light) is behind you and hits the lens. |
