Just to confuse, I'll say that I don't like the angle of the light in the statue shot: makes for a huge level of contrast which to my eye has reduced the impact of textures, especially the stone vs the tree. The sharpness of shadow is good, but I'd like to see a more head-on to the statue shot, so that the light is falling across the subject.
If you moved the statue relative to the tree you'd get a possibly wonderful shot contrasting the textures.
Would also like to see a colour version (not high-saturation perhaps) as the stone and the bark might complement each other noth in colour and texture.
