I noticed that there were 3-4 Seattle entries 2 contests ago, which suggest that i might see some Rainier reflection... damn, none of you guys bother driving 1 hour to get a nice photo of rainier???? (Even I managed to get one in August: Rainier Reflection, taken right when the first light strikes (after it gotten past the clouds) on an early and freezing August morning. Couldn't get a reflection in the evening, i heard the pinkish cast on the Rainier would be reflected though and was hoping one of you guys would do something to capture it.

(On a personal note, if i were living in Seattle, i'd be up there in that park every weekend that i can spare)

Mt. Rainier is a bit different at the end of September than it is in August. The lodge at paradise closed last weekend, so the challenge was pushing the end of the season. Also, it's about 3 - 3 1/2 hours from downtown Seattle to Paradise and reflection lake. So you pretty much have to spend the night if you want the postcard dawn shot. This time of year, it's probably a 10% chance that you can see the mountain on any given morning.

Damn :( they close the road already in September? is it already snowing up there? I can't imagine Paradise Lodge being closed so early.... that's too bad :( would've loved to see a good Rainier photo. I know about how hard it is to see Rainier because I spent a week there last August and I have only seen it completely open for one day, the day before I left. Usually it's clear early in the morning but never in the afternoon......
