I can't believe it - Santana for FREE, Saturday, July 2, Grant Park, Chicago. I've been waiting a long time to see him/them, and free, well that's too much to ask for.

We were allowed cameras for Buddy Guy, don't know about Carlos Santana yet. Security didn't exactly like everyone rushing the stage for Buddy Guy either. I mainly sat in my seat and photograhed using 300mm, but it was getting dark, so my photos weren't the greatest.

Anyone else going to see Santana?

Should be a GREAT show! I will occasionally see Carlos sitting in with the drum circles at Golden Gate Park here in San Francisco. One day, we were throwing the frisbee in the park and commented how good the circle sounded and low and behold, there he is sitting strumming his guitar, along with one of his horn players that had come out with him. He is such a cool and personable guy as well. I also saw him do a surprise sit-in with Trey Anastasio at the Warfield last year that was later turned into a DVD. You are going to have an AMAZING time!

I AM SO JEALOUS! Grew up with Santana and have lots of memories that I would love to relive during that concert. : (((

I cannot wait. I could listen to him 24/7. I may not even be able to see the stage, but that's okay too; nothing beats live music outdoors under the stars (lying on a blanket with my eyes closed - it's all good)!

Roseann - I think you may need to put in Santana's 2 disc "Lotus" this evening to relive some memories :)

My family and a lot of friends were going to come to town for the 4th and this would have been one of the HAVE TO BE THERE stops on the journey but man the crowds these next weekends downtown are gonna be nuts! I wish I could go but will be heading south instead :(.

Enjoy it for me.
