...yesterday, as there was no difference in price between it and two 128s. Figured I'd go for it. I don't have a 128Mb to compare with, but it doesn't seem all that much snappier than the 32Mb sticks that I have. It's seems very slightly faster in all transfer functions, but not overwhelmingly so. Not worth the bother, really. The TIFF transfer is still agonising. I figured it would be better to get one should I wish to buy a fully-enabled device later down the road (almost certain...might be in the market for a CLIE when I head back to school). In short, kids, don't worry about it when it comes to your F717s. It's not enough of a difference to notice, at least not between it and the 32Mb stick.
Having said that, it's wonderful to go from my 2 32Mb sticks to 256Mb.
