Information discovered from discussion yesterday in another thread (Burning CDs on the road) prompts this posting.
I followed-up with the item I had mentioned yesterday in the above thread and found what I was looking for.
The product I had seen mentioned is called SnapDisk. I read about it in the April 2005 edition of Photographic Magazine in the 'New Products - Proofsheet' section.
I go to the website (PNI Corp) to check it out. Get this, the product is discontinued - no longer being manufactured. I'm thinking, what the heck! Must have been some legal issue or something right? Time to do a little sleuthing...
According to an article titled PNI: "Success Story" Nov. 23-29, 2004 the decision to stop selling the product goes back to at least November 10, 2004.

So...I get a magazine that mentions a "New" product and that "New" product has been discontinued for at least 5 months prior to the magazine cover date? I know, I know - the magazine needs lead time for printing, etc...so say they finalize the April 05 copy in late Jan 05...they would still be a couple of months behind with this one.
Define "New"...
