Those shots are by another photog that I went with. I'm also in LA Canon Digital SLR Group on Yahoo. A guy I went with took those photos. He has a Canon D1 Mark II and used a 200mm L prime and a 135mm L prime. He shot in RAW and converted to TIFF and then PS'd some stuff.
Remember, I'm too cheap and lazy to post, but comparing his photos to mine, the flavor of the gallery is very similar. I think he did a better job though. Just wanted to share what it was like with DPCers, that all. I don't want to take credit for his shots.
It was a blast, I had a really good time. We shot for 5 hours straight just walking around and taking interesting photos of people. It was hot this weekend and I got sunburnt. Wearing a baseball cap backwards to take pictures without knocking the cap off your head does not offer any sun protection. Now I've ordered a boonie hat that has a brim that bends so I can shoot outdoors with more sun protection. Some were character actors and others were just visitors that like to dress up like that. We just walked and stood around and just clicked off shot after shot after shot of interesting characters that streamed by. The best experience I've had shooting candid portraits. I'm actually thinking about maybe returning this coming weekend as it will be the last weekend here in CA.

We are the people who don't work faire - but we dress and go all season (MD faire).
It is usually one of the best places to get great subjects!
I had so much fun there last week I'm going again this Sunday 5/22 which is the last day. If anyone is interested let me know.
I'll be there early b/c afternoon, it'll be scroching hot there.
If you buy online it's twenty bucks, that's the cheapest way, but you have to buy by Friday for it to be good for this weekend. Dress lightly, it's gonna be hot. I'll pick you up by 9:20 AM so we can be there before 10am. Check out the link for the picks in this forum.
I'm taking my 28-135 IS and 55-200 Mark II. I think upto 300 is good. Did you get new lenses?
there is so much going on in our neck of the woods its hard to keep track.
as a 'critique' on you stuff.....you have a whole bunch of great stuff.
The only thing I see, and I don't know you, is...
you have great color, great lines, some great dof stuff, some great inanimate object stuff, too many ear shots it takes away from the dimensional value of the whole face, I like the candid shots better than the touristy portraits, but over all really sharp, good pix.

Those are great shots. I envy the background you have. Over here at the Renaissance Faire, it's just a public park that they set up in so the background is either shops or people walking by. You can only bokeh so much.
