There are 148 buildings involved in this years Doors Open program - that's a lot of potentially good Photos Ops to cover in 2 days. Anyone want to make it a GTG?
Okay, I'll join the photographic phun and phestivities.
I haven't looked at all the buildings yet, but the Brickworks would be nice, except that it's out of the way. I small walking tour on each day to a bunch of them would be nice.
Does everyone want to post their favourites and then we can do a vote? I think the walking tour is a good idea, maybe everyone can design their ideal tour and we can see what we end up with??
Nobody interested? I might give up on this GTG attempt. That weekend is that start of a weeks holiday for me, so I might just go for a road trip rather then push the Doors Open if no one is interested.
Everything is pretty much downtown (DVBW obvious exception), but not necessarily within walking distance of one another.
The TTC Carbarns are sufficiently out of the way that it could be annoying without a car. I'm willing to carry passengers (carpool): I can take 2 others easily, 3 if you want to get cozy. I can also manage to get 2 or 3 parking spots downtown (Yonge/College) if people want to leave their cars somewhere downtown, although the DVBW is as good a place as any to arrange that.
If we started at the DVBW (5) then made our way over to 401 (1) we could walk up Spadina a good ways and see most of the things on this list. I'm sure everyone has their own list: we can try and figure things out Saturday morning. Note that I'm interested in going out on both days (in fact I have to be out on Sunday if I want to visit the schoolhouse for example).
Some venues are open on only a given day or have very restricted hours on one or both days.
These are not open Saturday: 6 and 11 - resricted hours for 2 (1-4pm).
These are not open Sunday: 8 - restricted hours for 2 (12-3pm) and 3 (1-4pm).
Not sure but I think I'm in. I'm meeting P3Wiz downtown at 8 to shoot probably the docks area if you wanna join us and I would really like to hit the DVBW at around 10ish. PM me if your interested in meeting up at 8 to shoot the docks.
