How is it that our winning photo, a worthy picture with an edgy sense of righteousness, receive such high votes... while Cherry Pie gets SLAMMED just 25 spots out of dead last?!!!
I gave Cherry Pie an 8. And now that I look at it again, I shoulda gave it a 9. The colors are wonderful, the subject is sexy, and I love the light coming from over her wrist with a slight sun glare.
Reading some of those comments makes me mad. What is so bad taste about this? Is it that fact that you see her underwear? The model in our winning photo is NAKED, people!!! Or is the cherries? *sigh* So when I was a little boy wearing underoos with Superman on them... was I trying to say something about my manhood?
I hope you feel better for giving this photo a 1 or 2. Maybe it'll make up for your lack of reality.

Maybe the girl should have ditched the drawers altogether and held up two real live cherries instead. I'm sure it would've boosted my vote. I think its just a little preferential to the male vote. I think in this challenge, real fruit or vegetables were a must (or something looking real). She is hot though... :)
I expected a pretty poor score, largely from those who didn't spend the extra second to consider a slightly looser interpretation of the topic. I can't say I thought I'd grab 176th :)
As disappointed as I was watching my average this week (it started somewhere around 3.7), I was pretty happy to see my vote distribution at the end -- I'll take mostly 6's. I was also, for the most part, happy with the comments I received.
The one I found the funniest was from user freetime -- "also not worth voting on". We should be happy to know that my predecessor, "not worth voting on", was given to Untitled.
I appreciate your comments on the shot, and the same goes to those who made the effort this week in commenting. You made it fun.

I didn't think it was preferential to the male vote. I agree with Shiiizzzam's comment :) (about wanting those underwear). Photos of a sexual nature will work when the opposite gender is attracted to it and the same gender would like to be it (in an aspirational way), which is a rule the advertising industry goes by. In this case, both sexes want to be in those pants, just for different reasons :).
On the flip side, this week's "Hooters" shot does not appeal to both sexes that way. Men might be attracted to it, but most women would rather run a mile than be her.
Doesn't anybody think it's just a tad freaky that GeneralE and I both put in a close up shot of the Lychees? Did anyone think that it was just a little weird? Now that I see you GeneralE - you are on teh west coast and I am in Beantown - it strikes me just a tidbit bizarre ... did ayone else react the same way?
Lychees are berries from a tree originally from China but have been raised in FLA and elsewhere since the 19th century - the "berry" has a paperlike cover and inside it has white, watery flesh that covers a brown pit. The fruit therefore is inside the cover and is very tasty - the most accurate description was given it by my daughter recently - they taste like flowers! A treat to be sure but expensive and exotic!

Wow! So is this like, your site? I checked out your stuff... you're pretty good at this. I really like your style of shooting from a little different point of view. Make common object far more interesting. I'll keep an eye out for your work.
Now I just have to come up with a way to put a baby, some clouds, a little kitten, a lollipop, and pixie dust into a photo for this weeks challenge so I can break into the top 10. That's my formula.
I noticed, and I did think it was a bit weird. Actually, I thought it might be two entries by the same person. But hey! There are only so many fruits and veggies to go around, lol.

Maybe I should be a little clearer on what I was thinking when I said what I said. I was trying to say that if the model was standing there naked as the day she was born holding 2 real cherries in front of her...that THAT image would be more preferential to the male vote. I apologize for any confusion I may have caused due to the lack of articulation that I displayed earlier. I reckon I can articulate a lot better than I can take pictures.... at least that's what the judges are saying.
