You're close with that, you just need to use a link to the actual image (//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/4517/orig/17416.jpg) within the img tags rather than a link to the page.
You have to be a paying member to directly link images on pbase.
As you're a member here you will have no problems posting shots from your portfolio directly into the forums so I would suggest doing it that way.

Your link should look like [ img ]//path.to/image.jpg[ /img ] but without the spaces.
Close. I can't figure out where you've got that link from, but it should look like this between the img tags:
//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/5783/orig/15445.jpg
You should be able to get that by bringing up the page for that image, right clicking on the full sized image itself and selecting properties. You can select & copy the URL from that dialog.
