I've always wanted to do the AFF (Accelerated Freefall) course, but have never got around to it.
It's extortionatelly expensive here in the UK, but with the excellent exchange rate we have right now, I was wondering if anyone here could point me in the direction of somewhere in the US where I could do this? Somewhere cheap but safe!
It's too far for you, but just in case you're ever in California this seems like the place to go. Never done it but heard TONS of good stories. And you could say you went skydiving in Paris, uh, Perris. They have indoor skydiving too.

California sounds fine if the price is right... in fact, that's where I've been thinking of doing it for ages. The flight costs a bit, but because of the exchange rate it might actually be much cheaper than Europe in total. If anyone can recommend any centres, I'd be grateful.

Yeah, that's what I'm after... it's the aff I'm after though, not interested in Tandem. The $1035.00 quoted is a hell of a lot cheaper for me than the £1200 which seems to be the cheapest way of doing it in Europe.
skydive chicago has a good reputation. I went skydiving with some little ol' company in rural wisconsin and man was that an adventure. I know skydive chicago has one of the best reputations though. Have you thought about going tandem? You get the highest jump and don't have to do much learning, unless you want to get licensed to jump a bunch of times. If you're just looking to do it once though, I would go tandem.
p.s. I know our humble midwest doesn't have the stunning scenery of some of the coastal and western regions, but Chicago is a great city with great music if you like that sort of thing.
Tadem jump at 12000 feet in New Zealand, NZ$245.00. Convert that to UK currency & its about 93 pounds. I met an English man in Nelson (top of the South Island) last year that was getting his parachute instructors license here because it was so much cheaper than in England. Bit of a long way to come, but the scenery is worth it.
I did my first (and only) jump in New Zealand
it was a solo static line jump and the chute opens automatically as you leave the plane
the view was fantastic you could see the whole of the southern alps (South Island) and I was jumping in the North Island
and I could see both sides of the North Island and all its snow caped mountains... pure magic :)
I did the jump through the local scout group at a cost of NZ$40.00

yeah if you can get to new zealand jump there! such an incredibly beautiful place, I wish I had the $ to jump while I was there. If you do go there you may want to think about doing the Nevis bungee jump in queenstown. Totally different than skydiving but a great experience, and more intense actually in my opinion.

Thanks guys, I definitely don't want to do tandem though, I want to do the AFF programme!! Your site quoted $1800 for this course which is way too much for me.
I'll look into NZ though, but the cost of getting there will probably be completely prohibitive... it's literally the other side of the planet for us.
