Anyone been there and suggest things to see. Also will I be able to charge my camera or do I need a adapter. Also are camera's or camera equipment cheaper there.

I lived in Hong Kong for 5 years. I love the place. You must og to Ned Kellys on Ashley road. They have the best burgers in all of Hong Kong. Say HI to steve the owner an nice man and serves a good drink

Yes you will need an adapter, most of the hotels can supply you with one. If not you can get one at any of the electronic or camera shops. Hong Kong is full of them. PS make sure if you get any thing that it will work on US elect. Some of the electronics are only 220V.

There are adapters in most places. You can get them cheap. I've not been to Hong Kong but I have been to Beijing, Xi'an, and Shanghi. Take spending money as the markets host unbelievable deals!!! I don't know where nikon is made, but canon equipment was actually more expensive there. Remember to bargain to 1/4-1/3 of the price at markets. Sometimes you can even do better than that, much better infact!

I was over there for a visit about 2 years ago- it's a great place for photography. There is a nice park over near the bank district on the island that has an aviary with some colorful birds that was one of my favorite spots. They don't let you use tripods there, so a fast lens and sunny weather are helpful. Ocean Park has some good opportunities for photographing animals. I got some great night shots of the skyline as well. The flower market and bird market are also interesting.

As for camera gear, I found that most quality gear was similarly priced to that in the US. The dollar has weakened significantly since then and may have actually made things more expensive there than here.
