=============== DPC Waiver Text for Minors =============
I authorize my daughter/son, _________________________, to participate on the web site //www.dpchallenge.com. I am agreeing to the Terms of Use (found at //dpchallenge.com/terms.php) for her/him, since s/he is underage. I will be held liable for any actions that s/he takes on the web site.
What's the purpose of this waiver. I'm 17 and I don't really see any need for it.
the age limit for dpc is 13. if a parent has a child who is interested, the parent must take responsibility for the child, and this waiver is how that is accomplished.
ok...i did the copy, paste, print, sign, scan and tried to send to help@dpchallenge.com but it is undeliverable....what email addy should i use to send the signed release back to???text
If you want to get your child on DPC, just drop us a line letting us know you and we'll send you back a form that you can fill in (using WordPad or MSWord) and mail back. It's not required that you print, sign, and fax/mail back.
i can forward the email and the waiver that i got attached to the address if anyone wants it...just let me know..allu have to do is open attachment, fill out and reply attaching new filled out form
I have a son who just turned 13. Would he need a waiver? And if there was a kid's challenge would he be able to join? I know he'd want to join if there were kid's challenges. :)

I don't understand what point you are trying to make here. This site does not collect any information about the minors - only their name and the signature of the parent. I registered my daughter and didn't even give her age -- also did not give the site her address, her full name or any other relevant information, the only email address used is mine.
I was just showing WHY they ask for your waiver ... so that people can never acuse them of breaking COPPA regulations or even think that they might be. With your waiver, their butt is covered, so I imagine that is why they ask for it. If you read the whole thing (COPPA), it may be even illegal to ask for name or age without clearance from the parent so that is probably why they want the waiver. My point was in answer to a 12 year old that said WHY do I need to get a waiver from my parent?

Waiver is often in writing, sometimes a person's action act as a waiver
waiver can only release negligent activity ,not intentional activity.
the waiver must be signed voluntarily and with the full knowledge of the right being waived
