Hello everybody out there,

from 21-7-05 to 18-8-05 I am planning to go around Iceland with my motocycle. And of course I will take some pictures.
I am looking forward to meet other photographers to share information and maybe to meet for a tea. :-)
In the next weeks I will make a plan for the "roadmap". My primary goal is to go around the island and take some not so dangerous inland roads. Cause I am going on my own, I have to be more carefully.
My photographic obsession is water and of course there will be water enough to pay attention to. But are there some place where I must go for photographing? Of course I read something about the famous waterfalls and I will make a stop there.
I think the northern side will be more attractiv for me, cause of the midnight sun and I read about lesser rain there. I like to sleep outside in a tent so rain is not my best companion.
At the moment my biggest problem is my luggage. The must have photogear is more heavy than last year and there are some special equipments I had to take with me. Especially for the river crossing. I when read about hte 3 kilo limit for food I become very sad not to take my favorit food with me, buhuhuu... ;-(
But I like fish and I have courage and couriosity is my nickname: I had to try some of the rotten fish... ;-)
BTW. is it a good idea to carry a fishing rot with me. Is it possible to catch fishes from the coast not having a boat?
Oh, there are so much questions... ;-)))

Just a quick response here.

Don't forget the lake Mývatn not far from Akureyri in northern Iceland, you should be able to get some nice shots there. But I think "the golden circle" is every foreign travellers duty to visit at the south (Gullfoss, Geysir, Þingvallavatn...)

There are many interesting places here in Iceland, I could also recommend the island Flatey in Breiðarfjörður, you can travel there by a ferry and there is a camping area, but you can't take your motorcycle to this island, you have to leave it in the main land, you have some options about what to do with your motorcycle, check out these sites:

Coming there is like going back in time, for a century or so, there are old beautiful houses over there.

Hello Amason,

THX for the informations. The place with the travle back in time sounds great. When I saw the pictures I thought: This is the Nyksund I couldnt find. Nyksund is a small fishing harbour in the northern part of Lofoten (ext. Vesteralen). I once traveld there and found a big tourist trap. The photos are very impressiv especially in the red light.
The other travelling trips I will study in the next time.
BTW. are their any possibilities for me getting automates informations if anybody answers in this thread?
