ok here are my outtakes from Time and Emotion.... well at least the shots I took that weekend... we went to an animal park that was totally amazing... I was in awe most of the time and just kept forgetting to adjust my camera... many shots not shown were even blurry from not being still enough... it was so incredible! I am going to go back soon without the kiddos and try to focus on photography techniques... they have a behind the scenes tour that really gets you close by taking you in an open top vehicle... you get to get closer to the endangered species included cheetahs and wolves...
That looks like so much fun. We have a place called Northwest Trek and I have been planning on going there to take photos and enjoy the animals. It is very difficult to concentrate on photography when other people are with you. Like you stated you end up forgetting a lot of things and you are often feeling way too rushed to take quality photos. Your photos are a lot of fun to look at but many are more like snapshots (no offense intended). Snapshots can still be very good for telling the story of the event. What I sometimes do with those kinds of photos is to organize them into an interesting montage. A 12x18 inch poster made up of the best images may be an effective way to show off the trip for the family to enjoy.

Great photos Anachronite! I've never been to a zoo that you drive through with the animals that close, that'd be great fun. Was that rhino out in the open also? You should have jumped out, jumped on him and gone for a ride! :D Nice pics.
hey. im curious about where this is. All the places I've gone similar to this require that you have all windows (and sunroofs) closed and they are strict at enforcing these rules. (and for good reason, when i was little I got bit by an emu and a few gunea fowls climbed up my back at a petting zoo). I've been going to zoo's and wildlife parks everywhere i go lately. the shots were taken at the Fossil Rim Wildlife park in Glen Rose, Texas... the only time I had to roll up the window was when the emus came up to the car.. they looked so evil.. like they wanted to peck us to death
yes indeed, i would love to go there too! I'm looking into getting a job working with big cats as a matter of fact and I have already decided that I am going to own a Lynx at some point in the future. I've studied up on it and talked to breeders and everything and was going to get one in a year or two but I'm moving to California and you can't have them there. indeed, some may say it is cruel to own an exotic pet, but i believe I will give it a better home than it would have at the zoo and they are known to make good pets and can adapt well to a loving household setting (with a lot of proper training of course...)

don't worry about those that say it is cruel... they are the same people that compared slaughering of cattle for food to hitler slaughtering the jews... idiots with nothing better to do... don't fret your cat will be fine and loved... better than trapped in a zoo without someone to befriend...
