Congratulation!!! I am going to check if the nearest Chapters stocks this magazine. I like a lot "Bavarian Alps - Germany. I would like to see the "Storm clouds over Tryfan" original to have full apreciation of your Photoshop mastery.

Depends, this time nothing as part of a competition entry - however some if commissioned vary hugely, I was once asked to design the cover for a mainstream magazine and they only wanted to pay £300.
In my experience they pay poorly - the only time photographs in publication make much money is if they are celebs in scandal, then you can change pretty much whatever you like :D
Or shooting on location for a glossy.

Belive me, photoshop made this photo - will try to dig it out. It was flat, colorless and bland.

Why not Kavey? If money is your aim, from all my design & photography work that has been published unpaid - I have made more money off the back off it than I would have been paid by the magazine - simply by people seeing your images / details and contacting you for commissioned work..
think of it as free advertising rather than them getting a free image..

I was recently quoted 60 GBP for a full A4 page and 30 GBP for a half page in a similar British photo mag.
I am not sure I want anything published without a fee (unless it IS because I've placed in a competition. But I'll keep it in mind. Thanks!
Why not Kavey? If money is your aim, from all my design & photography work that has been published unpaid - I have made more money off the back off it than I would have been paid by the magazine - simply by people seeing your images / details and contacting you for commissioned work..

Another consideration is that competitions often (though not always) stipulate that entries must not have been previously published. I don't suggest for a minute that I think I have work worthy of winning any competitions but I think I'm more interested in being able to enter these freely than in the thrill of having something published for free.
Then again it would still be a thrill since it's still a recognition of skill.
Congrats. Nice photos. I have been lucky enough to be published on a few occaisions. I recently got featured in a double page article in practical Photography (UK Publication) they are actually going to pay me for the use of my photo, which is nice!
