Well, I get my bonus at the end of this month, so I placed my order last night. In a few days I should have my new Alien Bees.

2- B800
2- 10' Stands
2- 42" Brollies
A set of barn doors, travel cases and other odd accessories. Getting excited...hopefully I can learn how to use them. :-)

Now I have to go order backdrops/stand and radio transmitter and receivers.

Congrats Chris! The transmitter and receivers is a good idea. Another one would be a decent light meter. What type of transmitter and receivers were you thinking of getting? The AB equipment lets you adjust the individual lights, as well as fire them. They're pretty spendy though. I'd like to trade my wired remote for the AB wireless setup to get rid of a lot of wires.

I'm looking at getting this 4-channel setup. I can get the transmitter and 4 receivers for about the same price as one AB receiver. It's nowhere near as fancy though. :)

I know it's not really high-end, but it looks like it should work pretty well. If anyone has feedback about this setup, please let me know. Thanks

I highly recommend Light, Science & Magic: An Introduction to Photographic Lighting. Very helpful book that teaches you the principles.
