Hey gang,
My daughter and I are going to Gainesville next week for some scuba diving. I'm leaving from Franklin, TN and am planning on taking the "long" way - back roads - through Huntsville, AL, Columbus, Ga and on to Gainesville. We'll have about two days of meandering through the country on our way. I would like to find some nice photo ops on the trek down. If any of you have any suggestions (keep in mind that my route is not set) I'd be happy to hear them. Thanks and good shooting.

stop through suwanee county and check out the stephen foster memorial at the springs! anywhere along the river there is great. check out the town of live oak, a lovely, bucolic little town if there ever was one...

Stop at Callaway Gardens in Georgia if possible. Great flowers, lake, gardens and butterfly housing.

Certainly a good spot. Get that Gator Stadium while you are there. How far north are you going?

Try the Devils Millhopper it's a huge sinkhole //www.floridastateparks.org/devilsmillhopper/default.cfm

Hi Beach_Mel,
I had never heard of the Devil's Mill Hopper..Wow! I've only lived in Florida a couple of years so I'm still geographically challenged. I added that state park to my 'list of places' to check out....thanks for sharing that info! I can't to check it out myself!

I went there on a field trip in 6th grade, made quite an impression, I keep meaning to get back there.

The Ichnetucknee springs/river is absolutly amazing, if you are anywhere near it try to tube or canoe it.
