I would rather bring them home instead of sending them a slim jim or baby wipes..... I was in the Gulf war back in 91 and received a care package from a total stranger....dont get me wrong it was great and all and I really appriciated it, but packages from my family and friends meant more to me. It was much better to be home..... so lets bring em back.....
Some off the wall things that web site doesn't mention to send are 1)Flea collars to put on their ankles to keep the sand fleas away, and 2)panty hose. that sounds really silly, but you get sand in your butt crack and have to walk miles with it wedged up there, and you'll be begging for the extra protection of some control top pantyhose. My best friends husband is spending the night in Iraq tonight, and I KNOW it will be appreciated. Not everyone has much of a home to come back to, or even family to write them a letter.
But remember if you DO send a care package, make sure it's not bigger than a shoe box size package, and be sure to fill out a customs form telling EXACTLY what is in the box. That will ensure that it will get there ok.

I know a woman who is having a terrible time because her ex is in Iraq now, and she doesn't know how to explain to their 5 year old son that he may not come back :(. It's so sad.

I also suggest you contact the public affairs office of military base close by and ask them how you might be able to send stuff specificly to Australian and British troops.
Anything you send from cards, letters boxes are greatly apprecitated. Thanks to everybody for your support.

Why would anyone even want to worry a child like that? Chances are that the child's father will come home perfectly fine, and then he would have been worried for nothing. My little brother is always worried about "what if". I just think that I have enough problems already and will deal with those if and when they actually happen.
