Does anyone have some tips on keywording.
I have a number of images of different stock sites, (some micro-payment, and some regular priced stock) but my images very often seem to filter to the bottom of the search.....
I must be keywording wrong, but i don't know what.. I have tried lots of keywords, a few keywords....
here is a shutterstock example.
The first image that comes up when searching for PDA is an image with these keywords
calendar, data, digital, electronic, email, hand, held, information, pda, personal, planner, program, screen, stylus, tecnology, wireless
my image with comes up third to last has these keywords
clie, clipping, computer, d, isolated, organizer, p, palm, path, pda, personal, pilot, pocket, sony, toshiba, white
I am not wure what the differance is, or how the engine sorts them?
shutterstock is a horrible indicator of how good your keywords are. There is no priority placed on the keywords and the results come up in order of when the photo was posted...it's ridiculous.
i have noticed a DEFINATE decline in downloades though on shutterstock while everywhere else stays the same.. perhaps because my images are now appearing on search page 10 instead of 1.

Yeah, it's a great way to encourage new photographers to submit more images...

but are you saying that when i submit more images ALL my images will be bumped to the top.. or just the new images will be at the top of their searches.
I believe that the results are displayed in image id order, so the smaller the id the lower in the list you are. Older images have the lower image id's.

ok, that makes sense...... even though it does NOT make sense... to me anyhow.. i guess people will find the new images all the time.... i suppose that is their goal
