JPR makes it clear that it's not the camera that makes a great pic -- it's the photographer behind the camera that does. With his Fujifilm FinePix S602Z JPR has turned in some fantastic images, for example:

Thing is.. the S7000.. which is supposed to be a *BETTER* model.. doesn't produce near the same quality... or it's just owned by worthless sumbitches who can't photograph anything for the life of them :)

Don't mention it... your work is really awesome.
As for my machine, yeah, I had to break quite a few piggies to get it; but no regrets: it's way fun to use, even if it weights a ton. I did sell all my Nikon equipment, which I thought I would never do -- finally, though, the pull from the dark side, Canon, was just too strong.
Well JPR has got some amazing game when it comes to photography - I was stunned by that polar bear shot when I saw it in voting, though its probably worth remembering that camera's aren't all about megapixels though - I'd much rather have a finepix s602Z than a standard 5 megapixel point and shoot.
Same premise - I'd say most people on this site would swap their camera for an old 4 megapixel canon 1d series cam.
Having said that I just submitted my first shot with a good camera, and I get the feeling it will stumble well and truly into the depths of mediocrity! :).
Hehehe... no it's not the camera's fault - I uploaded the images to my computer all of 10 minutes before the deadline :)...spent exactly thirty seconds editing the image I ended up submitting !!
So far it's actually doing well :)!!!! (after all of six votes).
Edit: so that would make it pretty clearly the fault of me, and my bad time management skills!

I too felt the pull of the Nikon and have been humbled by my scores since. It is much heavier than my Fuji and is nowhere near as good at scraping ice of my windsheild as my 3.2 megapixel cam was. Maybe I need a 12.4 megapixel cam......yeah that might do it!!

4 times the megapixel power would give you 4 time the ice scraping ability, right????
