Welp...I think I shoveled my driveway for like 4 hours on Saturday and it caught up with me Sunday morning with the sorest lower back I've ever had and now today with close to the sorest throat I've ever had.
So, we'll see what happens maybe I'll leave work early, get to sleep for a while and call off tomorrow and get some entries for the next challenges.
Yeah, I know what you mean, It was 3.5 hours for me but I also shoveled my neighbors sideway (since he's older and needs some help). That was on Sunday morning.
I only have on cure and it works like a charm for me, HOT TUB! Right after that it's a beer (or two) sitting outside in the Hot Tub with the Jets on Full and Reading a Magazine and/or Book (Book 5 of the Stephen King: Dark Tower for me this time).
Hope you get better because I just heard we are going to get snow today and tomorrow... :-(
Snowblowers can maim and result in amputations of fingers and hands so for those that use them be careful!
So can scissors, kitchen blenders, food processors, garbage disposers, trash compactors, knives, lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, string trimmers etc...
The point is, snowblowers are no more dangerous than many other machines in common use and need to be operated with due care and respect. Use common sense.
Electric start (wall current), 2 stroke, (no crankcase oil to change) - the handle folds or you can hang it by the handle for storage. easy to pick up (i carried it up steps to clean my deck off!)
I have 100' of paved driveway 10 feet wide plus the turn around in front of the garage, i have a 40x50 gravel parking area and penndot plows me in as i live on a state road.
Ummm...25 minutes total to clear it all!
It's only money. It won't quit snowing anytime soon. If you are mechancilly enthusiastic, you can have my old snowblower for $25. It is sears, but takes 30-40 minutes of tinkering to run for 20 minutes.

2-stroke engines are the most polluting internal combustion engines available; I think they're banned some places. But even as a lifelong resident of snowless areas I can see how snowblowers would be handy ...
For the cost of a snow-blower you can get yourself a nice DSLR. Get you priorities straight. ;)

Seriously though, it's hard to take pictures if your back is so jacked up that it hurts just to lift the camera. A snowblower is a wise investment if you live wher it snows.

Shovelled three times so far today. Figure I'll have to go out at least once more today. More snow on the way tomorrow. But then I need the exercise. :) I do have a sore shoulder though.
oh well...I'm back from work -- it was a long day, but the DayQuil pulled me through it. I think after dose number 3 I started to feel pretty dizzy which was actually kind of cool.
Hopefully it will pass quickly for you. I came home a week ago Sunday with a slightly sore throat, thinking I'd nap it off. I didn't get out of bed again until yesterday. :/
