good workflow
overview for Photoshop 6 and 7. Explains the basic steps to getting
a good image from a digital camera or scan. Most of these are
really necessary to get a really good, clean shot from a digicam.

(Though note that not all of the steps are legal for submission to
dpchallenge)

Also has a link at the top to a 'photoshop primer' to give the basics.

Gordon,

Do you still use Colin's Linear Conversion Action? I've had pretty good luck with it, but am finding myself doing more and more tweaking after it's done, which makes me wonder how much I'm "losing" by running a generic action like that.

Any thoughts?

Gordon...Great Post!

I went through this tutorial and really learned some stuff. This is a must read for folks with Photoshop 6 or 7.

I have to admit to not bothering so much with a lot of the real technical
stuff. I just use breeze browser to go a 16 bit conversion and tweak
in photoshop. I'm trying to move beyond being obsessively techie :)

I only really go back and do all the linear conversion and stuff if
I'm finding problems in the final result due to colour issues.

Thanks, Gordon, this is a really excellent link. Lots of good stuff there that I plan to spend some time with. I've also taken the liberty of adding it to the post-processing section of the Tutorials page.
