The website is definitely not doing a thing to your image. The only thing that might have an effect on your viewing of the image is the browser itself and its image display mechanism.

It could be that your entry is loading as an 'interleaved' image - just a thought. So you'd see a lower resolution/ blurry version then the better one would download taking a bit longer ? Are you on a modem link so it takes a while to see the picture ?
