Does anybody know how to do the moving red-lined travling map you see in the Indiana Jones movies? Can you download it from somewhere?

yes, a red line moving from place to place to show travel, like in the Iniana Jones movies

In what format?
Regular video (like to capture it on VHS) or
flash or
gif or
mpg/avi digital....

Got MS office? I bet you can do that im powerpoint...

Different media offer different possibilites. PS CS will make Flash...not that i know how. I tired making a GIF once or twice...yuk.

You could perhaps do stills (photo a map, draw the line in bits and pieces on a layer in PS and save them as JPGs. Windows movie maker might be able to assemble the stills into an animation. I played with it once to make a V-cd / slideshow.

I was thinking mabey flash, but it would be better if you could download it from somewhere. but where?

If copyrights don't matter and you have a DVD drive, go rent the movie...

How about:
put a map up on the screen and draw the red line in a paint program - now all you have to do is record that as it happens...there should be something freeware out there that will do screen captures sequentially rather than as a snapshot.

best screen capture program is SnagIt. not freeware, but you can get a 30day demo. SnagIt dl page they have a "movie" capture feature.
