I recently bought Fred Miranda's Dynamic Range Increase Action for Photoshop, because I was tired of the limited dynamic range in some of my photo's. You probably experienced it too, subject is exposed nice but the sky or background is blown out and vice versa.
It proved to be very simple to use. I did a test today and
here is the result of that, a significant improvement. (details there and you need to scroll down to see the samples)

The basic idea is that you blend one under- and one overexposed image into a new one. So it only works for non moving subjects and you must use your tripod and selftimer/cable release. This is of course not allowed by the DPC rules. But the effect for all your other work can be great. I'll sure be using this method a lot.

I am not trying to sell this, there are other methods, for example described in "Luminous Landscape's" Digital Blending tutorial.

Your results are nice, as are the results posted on the page where you download the program. For $8.50 it seems worth a shot - esp. since exposure in landscapes can be such a problem with digital. I'm going to give it a try.

its worth trying the free version mentioned in the link as it is pretty easy to do without an action....

The other method is easy and you could record your own action based on that off course. For the record, the FM DRI action doesn't use that method.
To get it as good as that would take me a lot of time finetuning and $8.50 is less than I earn in an hour. :)
