They surely are rising at least in the members challenges and therby also overall.
When plotting the line do you use all the points from begining? Just thinking because the rise is of course steepest in the begining. F. inst. if you look at the open challenges then the rise don´t seem to be very much from late 02 to date.
what do the numbers down the left mean? 500, 1000, etc? number of views? votes?

As you can see by the trend lines is that members challenge entries are slightly catching up with open challenges [over all] even though we have had a high number of entries in a few open challenges lately.
NOTE: and to answer some peoples question. Yes I was bored yesterday, Rain and cold for this area.
Interesting--Looks like member challenges are overtaking open challenges. But isn't that confounded by the extra member challenges? In other words, shouldn't this look at average entries per challenge per month, to factor out the number of challenges (e.g., some weeks have three challenges running)?
To answer your question, YES is does appear that members challenge [on a monthly avg.] is catching up with open challenges. And YES there were 5 member challenges in November in relation to 4 open challenges. But the 108 entries in the extra members speed challenge no where could overcome the 1166 entries in just 2 of the open challenges. Plus there have been [extra] open challenges in prior months, they are also accounted for.
As for member challenges there has been 58 and open challenges 49 this year. So you are right were 8 more member challenges than open challenges, but that is less than 1 a month.
