Can anyone help me? I want to take pictures of sealife in an aquarium or fishtank. Over the last few years I've come across some articles on the subject that caused more confusion than not. The articles where a conventional SLR was used, off camera flash was stressed. On the other hand an article on using camcorders made no mention of artifical lighting. Which method is best for digital?

i believe that the reference to 'off-camera' flash was intended to mean 'do not use the on-camera flash because that will reflect right back into the lens'

any artificial lightings should be placed so that you don't get that nasty flare in the picture

If you have one, use a Circular Polarizer to cut back or eliminate reflections off the tank glass.
