Could someone please explain to me how can I get the best results in photoshop trying to replicate the efect of a soft focus lens.

I saw the articule someone suggested months ago but it did not explain the process it just mentioned it.

Anyway, thanks in advance for your help.

I don't know if I'm doing it particularly well, but I use layers and Gaussian Blur:

1. Duplicate the original layer.
2. Set the blending mode to "Hard Light".
3. Gaussian Blur - I usual start with 14.0 for the radius and experiment.
4. Play with the opacity setting on the layer to get the effect you want.

I'm interested in seeing how other people do this.

That was tyhe articule I was refering. Some how I did not "get it". I do now.

Reading it again, I didn't explain too clearly the steps

I.e., make duplicate layer
apply gaussian blur to duplicate layer

fiddle with overlay/ opacity to blend the effect

I didn't explain it too much because it was all automated in the
photoshop actions that are linked at the top of the article - I might
re-work it to make it clearer what is going on.
