I think this is a neat photo, but I, personally, dont' believe that black and white contributes much to a sense of 'new' in a photograph. Whatever the subject may be, it may still look good and new in b/w, but the overall impression of black and white seems to take my mind into an old and dark mode moreso that a new and shiny mode...
