I don't get it. It's not a diptych, so is it one or the other, or are we supposed to come up with a single image that shows both good/bad news...?
Could do something that's good and bad at the same time... like a pregnancy test? Either positive or negative result could be good and bad at the same time.

The way it seemed to me, you can photograph something BAD, like say a kid with a black eye, and caption it something like: "Yeah, but you shoulda' seen the other guy!" OR something GOOD, with a bad news rider for a caption, OR something that in and of itself is both good and bad news. Not an easy challenge, but those were what occurred to me.
It does not seem to me we're restricted to depicting both in the same shot...
