After you submit a shot to a challenge once the voting has begun you will see your submission on the right of the home page. There is an update button underneath the submission that allows you to get (I'm assuming) real time voting results instead of having to wait for hourly tabulation.
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think thats how it works. =)
