But there is a catch - every other Thursday have an Extended challenge. I would very much welcome a steady, predictable approach to this topic. I also prefer a subject for an Extended challenge than a Free Study.
I don’t prefer to have a subject for extended editing, I think it should stay like a free study, but schedule an extended editing challenge theme maybe once a fortnight or every three weeks.
Equal footing for Minimal and Extended on regular once every two weeks cycle. Leave Extended FS as is (so basically Extended still gets a bit more play than Minimal to appease the artsy, throw in the kitchen sink, crowd).
Bumping up, nobody else has any opinion on this?? I expected that all fans of Minimal would be enthusiastic! Maybe then have no Minimal challenges at all!!

Personally, I'd rather leave it flexible, rather than a fixed schedule like that.

Personally I think that no immediate response means that people don't care so no change, carry on as usual :(
Personally, I think that "no immediate response" means that people aren't all online simultaneously or might be busy doing something else like voting or editing a picture or maybe even thinking about the idea before answering -- I know I had to.

That, and the pace around here on the forums is generally much slower, less active, than it used to be "in the day". Many times there will be forum threads on the front page that are a week old now. Used to be if you weren't paying attention threads would scroll off the front page the same day! :-}

What about a Minimal FS?
Currently, the Free Studies are generated automatically at the appropriate time by the software. I have no easy way to make a Minimal Free Study except by scheduling an extra one...

This does not require any changes to the code and those who love Minimal could focus on mastering "straight-out-of-the-camera" while others who prefer Extended would focus on learning new skills. Standard is becoming very boring and with Covid we need some stimulation to overcome the everyday tedium!

Prolly ought to be mentioned more in challenge suggestions as that seems to be a way people get their wishes for a challenge.

Usually I only mention Minimal when I haven't seen one in the challenge offerings in a while. Honestly, usually triggered after I've seen a couple of Extended challenges scheduled and a counter Minimal hasn't shown up.
