The results of the 'Extended Free Study 2019-11' challenge have been recalculated due to the disqualification of the former 1st place image for using an image that the photographer did not take that appeared as part of the final image. In this case, the grass was added. A photographer can use an image they have not shot as a texture. However, in this case, the grass was deemed to be used as a feature or element of the final image rather than a texture. Compositing of a bear image and a grass image would have been allowed under the Extended Editing rule set, but both images would have had to have been shot by the photographer within the challenge entry dates.
Congratulations to the upgraded ribbon winners and new HM entry. We regret we were unable to make this announcement earlier. Unfortunately, the holidays and travel schedules delayed the submission of originals by the photographer and the ruling by the Site Council.
