One of the first lenses I bought when I got my first DSLR was the Sigma 70-300. As it's an unstabilised lens, I've hardly ever used it, and now that I'm trying to move to smaller equipment, I wonder if I ever will.
I'm still planning to hang on to my Canon 80D for those occasions when a DSLR works better, but mostly I'm using my M50. The native lens options for that camera are very limited though and having the EF-M 18-150, I'm finding it hard to justify buying the EF-M 55-200 despite its small size. Instead I was considering trading my Sigma 70-300 towards a used Canon EF-S 55-250 which has the advantage of being stabilised, and will fit both cameras. It's still quite large by my standards though, so I'm wondering how much I'd use that one either, but I'm tempted. And very curious to know what others would do in my situation.
I'm also considering trading in my Canon 50mm which is old and clunky and not enjoyable to use. It's another lens I've hardly ever used, though strangely I'm enjoying the Olympus OM 50mm despite it being a manual focus lens.
And I might even let go of my Sigma 10-20 if I can ever lay my hands on a Canon EF-M 11-22, which is tiny by comparison.
Working only from memory, I seem to remember that the EF-S 55-250 is a pretty well regarded lens, so perhaps that's not a bad move... dumping the Canon 50/1.8 seems to make sense, but you'll get very little for it. Still, if you aren't using it, anything is better than a paper-weight. Dunno anything about the 11-22.
The EF-M 11-22 is said to be a very good lens and is the one
I'm most sure about, but it seems to be in short supply right now. I used to love my 10-20 before I bought my fisheye zoom, so I'm reluctant to part with it, but I don't really need 3 such similar lenses, so I may have to let it go. I wish I didn't get so attached to inanimate objects.
So I traded my Canon 50mm towards the 55-250. I'm feeling a bit sentimental about it though because I've had it for so long and I have a photo in voting shot with that lens just before I started using the vintage Olympus.
Unfortunately the shop didn't want my 75-300.
There's still no stock of the 11-22 available. Maybe just as well because I've been spending too much lately.
