The rule says:
"JPG format from a single capture"

It doesn't say from a single image so images combined in the camera to form a single capture are allowed?

don't adventure on thin ice, DQ's are not fun :)

single capture is not the same as a single image. double exposures are 2 captures...

i had the same question a few months ago ..
so i wrote to the sc ..


my question ..
hi to the site council ..
i've just read the standard editing rules .. am i right in assuming that i can do a double exposure in camera and use that in a standard editing challenge ..
thankyou for your time .. :)

the answer ..
Depends on how you make it. If you leave the shutter open and block the lens between exposures, yes. If you use in-camera software to create multiple exposures on the same frame, no: we don't allow in-camera editing that would not be legal in photoshop.

A "single capture" in Minimal essentially means you can only actuate the shutter one time. Taking multiple exposures and combining them in-camera is not allowed.

You CAN make a "multiple exposure" in Minimal by opening the shutter once for a long exposure and manually uncovering/re-covering the lens multiple times.
