I now have an underwater housing, different ports, and a camera to go with it! I'm so excited!

And I have absolutely NO idea on what I'm doing. :)

One of the first questions I have is lighting. That's something I don't have yet, but am sure that I'll need quite soon. I won't be photographing in nice, bright, sunny waters.

Does anyone know of a relatively inexpensive way to deal with lighting underwater? I don't really have a lot of money to sink into it right now.

Also, any other info you have in general would be appreciated! I was going to go take a picture of a penny in the bathtub, but I'm in a hotel room, and there is no bathtub!

No pun intended? ;-)

Traditionally you're talking strobes, and underwater strobes are special purpose and expensive. There are some companies offering relatively economical LED lighting for that purpose now, for pretty reasonable prices, but I have *no* idea as to how they perform.

The biggest issue you're going to have is buoyancy. If you plan in being below the surface, you're going to need weights to keep you down there, or you'll spend all your energy trying to stay down there.
