i would guess that most of the military sees purpose in what they are doing and feel proud of the job they are doing. I would guess that Kerry is closer to communist than Bush (not that Kerry is close to being communist), and those are the only likely candidates to win, so why not vote for who closer represents you.

Kerry is picking on Bush for 'losing' the 380 tons of explosives. Bush was on teh news saying that Kerry jumped to conclusions - there may never have been the explosives therr when we got there, or we don't know what happened to them, etc.

Doesn't matter that the missing ballots in Broward are on their way TO the voters, not on the way BACK from the voters. So even if Bdobe WERE in Broward, if he already voted he couldn't have been impacted, else he wouldn't have had a ballot to vote with.
But, like I said, you couldn't resist the opportunity to promote the Kerry campaign plan and send up the smokescreen of disenfranchisement BEFORE the election "just in case". Their 66-page pamphlet says, among other things "If no signs of intimidation techniques have emerged yet, launch a pre-emptive strike (particularly well suited to states in which these techniques have been tried in the past.)". Sounds like you're following their plan quite well.

The problem with these types of questions, those with restrictions, is that they attempt to control the debate. Nothing is ever what it appears and is almost always way more complex than the simplifications insinuated here. Closed debates always represent an attempt to sway the answer and or outcome. Not very democratic (pun intended).
Many in the military are voting for Bush for three reasons:
1) He successfully pushed for and got pay raises for the military, and, for those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, made their pay tax-free.
2) Because many of them have actually served in Iraq and Afghanistan and been in contact with the ( non-"insurgent" ) people of those countries, and have learned how important it was to liberate them from the oppressive governments under which they previously lived. AND, they have seen firsthand how much progress is being made in those countries - the kind of stuff that does not make for good "news" on the major media outlets.
3) Bush has applauded and supported them every step of the way, even to the point of visiting them in Iraq last Christmas, at no small peril to himself. He has demonstrated his deep respect for them at every opportunity.
I believe that the Communist Party supports Kerry for 3 reasons:
1) They hate Bush because he believes in Capitalism & free enterprise, and Kerry does not
2) They hate Bush because he believes in constraining government programs, and Kerry does not
3) They hate Bush because he believes in God, and it shows - Kerry says he does, but it doesn't show.

58,000 absentee ballots have been lost. Election workers are blaming the postal service and USPS is blaming the the election workers. Post office says they handle the absentee ballots seperately from other mail. Will this jeapordize the votes coming from those people who have requested absentee ballots?
You would think that Governor Jeb Bush would have had things straightened out in Florida after the 2000 debacle, but it doesn't appera that way.
From my son's point of view, the military in Afghanistan is voting for Bush. They have been cut off from the world news for sixth months and are casting their vote in a time warp. they are voting for the Bush of April 2004 and the Kerry of April 2004. Kerry who? In a word, longer lines, and Problems with a capital P. The reason for the problem is NOT with the process ( or the machines ). It is because, in addition to the "normal" slate of federal, state, county, district, and town offices, there are EIGHT constitutional amendments to vote on, as well as county, district, and town initiatives. For MANY, the first time they will be aware of those amendments and initiatives is when they see them listed on the ballot IN THE VOTING BOOTH. Thus, it will take them an inordinate amount of time to read, try to comprehend the "legalese" language, and decide on how to vote on those amendments and initiatives. The limited parking is because county supervisors underestimated the turnout ( this was the first time early voting has been available ). So, part of the problem is an insufficient NUMBER of voting places, and part of the problem is the media hype to vote early. Tom Joyner, an extremely popular black radio talk show host, was in Orlando earlier in the week and ran his show from one of the designated early voting venues. Naturally, the lines were 3-hours long that morning. On Election Day, the lines are sure to be long for the same reason - voters who have not yet seen the amendments and initiatives - even though sample ballots containing them have been mailed to every registered voter.
The problems are TOTALLY unrelated to the supposed problems of 2000 - most of which were related to voters who couldn't follow simple directions - and it is outrageous to be pointing a finger at Jeb Bush for the problems associated with early voting or this years absentee ballots. But then, considering your apparent vendetta against anything Bush, it's not unexpected that you would stoop to that tired tactic. After all, it is in the Democratic playbook.
But anyway, how do Florida's voting problems relate to dsmboostaholic's original questions?
