This from a friend in a group I am in; any suggestions?

I went to my Data icon today to start working on my photos and I find that all of the thumb nails have turned to either the PS icon or the Cr icon, neither of which let me preview the thumb nail image without downloading to the Adobe screen. Help!!! I am in windows 10.
I also have red x circles under all of the thumb nails???
