For your budget I'd suggest looking for something in a 24" size, with 2560x1440 resolution. For photographic editing, an IPS panel is highly desirable (reduces gamma shift with viewing angle change). Look at the viewing angle specification, if it says 178 degrees then it is most likely IPS. Some will state panel type directly in the description or specs. Look for a monitor that covers 100% of sRGB space or better. Some newer monitors cover almost all of the wider Adobe RGB gamut. Look for a monitor that has a height-and-tilt adjustable stand and at least. Many low-buck monitors just have legs, forcing you to wall mount or put spacers underneath to achieve the right viewing position. |
