It's that time of year again. I will be joining The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride on Sunday, September 24th to raise awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health. It's my annual commitment to do something good for others while sharing a day of riding with like-minded folks. The link below will take you to my fundraising page. Do what you can for the cause should you feel inspired. Thank you!
This was me for my first one, THE first DGR in 2015.
I still have the suit, but will be riding this bike...
I'll be on board after the weekend, pal! But I must say the current bike doesn't look like what a "distinguished gentleman" might ride :-)
Everything helps!
As to the bike not necessarily being distinguished..... The Triumph Speed Triple was the original Naked Bike/Streetfighter (Though some Ducati owners will argue this....), so it has some heritage.
And our local DGR group would rather have someone a little off the beaten track who raises money and participates than not. Our group has had a rather eclectic gathering of machinery these last couple years.
If you could help me with that whole... first part of this...
"I remeber losing weight with people, we made a breast cancer calendar, we have tribute challenges, we visit each other.....
It's a damn good family here."
That would be great.
Thanks. :D
Sorry.... read this and made a mental note to return to it. Fell out of the old noggin.
In 2008, a bunch of us here were determined to lose weight and get healthier, so we put together a little side thing where we all chipped in a couple bucks and whoever won got the bucks to donate to their favorite charity. We had fun, encouraged and supported each other, and lost weight and got healthier.
Just another of those fine things about the community.
I remember another time donating camera equipment to a student through someone here....
There just seems to be something about the people in this community that have the heart and soul of being good and decent people. Imagine that!
