Something that I noticed while browsing through DPCPrints, and I was wondering what was your opinion about:
Some photographers put their signature in such a small print, that it can hardly be seen. Others place it on the very edge of theior border and note that it can be covered by the frame.
I don't get it, those who actually sell prints - don't you consider yourself as artists? Don't you think your signature actually worth?
For me, the signature is the most important part of an artistic piece, and if I buy one, I definately would want to see it clear!
Also, I can tell you that my cousin, who is a profesional photographer, contributed one of his photographs to a certain gallery's auction in Paris. They had him fly over, seperately from the print, just to sign the piece. Otherwise - it was worthless as an artistic piece.
Don't you agree? Are you ashamed of your signature? Do you really think it lowers the aesthetic value of your photograph?
