OS: Windows 10 Professional
Symptom: System automatically reboots several times a day
Event log: There seems to be bad blocks on my system disk
Solution: Run chkdsk /r
Current status: It keeps saying "Scanning and repairing drive (C:): 11% complete"
Lots of answers on the internet, but it's hard to judge which one is right.
Any one here who can give me some advice/clues what to do now?
BTW. I'm not worrying about my photos. They're on another disk and well backuped.
I think that's good, but I need a working system to access them and all my software is on the system disk
Best advice I found until now: Take a drink, let it run, get some sleep and have a fresh look in the morning ;)
Lol, I didn't follow one advice ( "Keep calm" ) . Gave a good kick to that stupid thing after a few hours. It jumped to 100% complete and I'm up and running again (at least for now). But perhaps it's time to buy a new disk...
Good news. It's always better to be able to shop around than to do an emergency repair/restore. Better to do percussive maintenance with the appropriate tool, too!!
With regard to that drive, it's very possible that the symptom will recur. It is also possible that it will not do so soon. I think that were it my drive, I would take this opportunity to replace it with solid state. Big gain in speed.

Disk (solid state) ordered. I took the opportunity! It will arrive tomorrow. Hesitating between a clean windows install (and reinstall a lot of apps) or just a copy of my current drive (problems are not solved, but it's still working).
