I have taken on a product shot job with a crazy deadline - the first paid photography work I have ever done (paid in beer though which is what I am photographing)
I have to photograph 5 different beer bottles individually on a white background. I am going to try and do this tonight as they want the photos tomorrow - no stress really!!!!
Anyway I am thinking if I can tether the Canon 6D to may laptop it will help me see how I am getting on.
So please tell me how I can do this. I have latest Photoshop and Lightroom (but don't use Lightroom)
I have cables (boxes of them!!)
I can buy software if needs be and cheap and downloadable.
Any advice appreciated. And if you have any advice on bottle photography on white backgrounds I am all ears. I have a white photo tent, 3 external cheap Yunongo flash guns, rolls of white paper and bottles of beer and lots of enthusiasm.
Yep, you should be able to get it up and running quickly with Lr. If all else fails, install the EOS Utilities and that definitely works. I have used both methods with the 6D. I've done a *lot* of tethered capture work in my previous job, mostly microscopy.

Thank you - that is great to know. I hope the tethering helps make my workflow tonight more efficient as I have my work cut out for me.
Don't drink your subject matter... at least not before the shoot!
Hehe I won't drink it until I know they are happy with the photos.
BTW - is wireless tethering worth looking into with the 6D? I have a 3m USB cable so tethering with cable not a problem but if wifi tethering is easy to set up then reduces the risk of cable tripping
