In response to nds' forum, I have tried out the scoring system on an Excel worksheet.
1) Any score between 1 to 5 inclusive will drag the overscore down.
2) Conversely, any score between 6 to 10 inclusive will have an incremental effect on the overscore.
Conclusion : The photo being judged must score 6 or above. In other words, it must pass the passing mark of 5. That means, even if a voter gave one a passing mark of 5, the overall (average) score will go down instead of remaining the same before the voter gave the photo a 5.
Anyone reading this, please advise if you think the photo in position 184 deserves better than the photos at 193 and/or 194. IMO, I am puzzled why the photo passed at all. |
