Anyway I would like some advice on which lens to take for this short flight. I probably won't have much time to switch lenses.
I could take the 70D with one lens and the 6D with another lens.
Here are lens choices.
Lenses: Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM
Canon EF 24-70mm f / 4L IS USM Lens
Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM
Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM
I am initially thinking 70D with the 10-22 for wide angle shots from the ground. And 6D with the 100mm for shots from the balloon of Stonehenge.
The flight will be just at sunrise - so hope to get some good photos.

The balloon will go as high as 60ft up. With regards the distance from the Stones, I cannot give you an accurate response to this.
On the morning the balloon company will review the best position to set up the land rovers and tether the balloon. During the launch of the competition I’d say we were pretty close and positioned just outside the ditch and bank.
24-70 on the 6D and 10-22 on the 70D. A 100mm would force you to have a single choice. Better would be 24-70 on the 6D and a long zoom lens on the other (like a 70-200). 24-70 from the sky would be wide enough IMO.
I find the 24-70 on the 6D not as wide as I had hoped for so guess I will be shopping for an ultra-wide for the 6D next. And then of course next will be a long zoom for the 6D. Hopefully that is it then:)

Of course not wide enough for everyday shots. In any case I guess you can have a good combo and enough megapixel for a nice crop :)

Thanks again Alex - yes I think I will be fine with that combo. I found that photo showing how high the balloon rises and how close to the stones it is - and after seeing that I think the combo you recommended will be perfect.

Oh wow!!!! That's what I call a prize!! I echo Alessandro's choices. A fixed lens is not a good option in this case, and if you're too wide, have enough pixels for a decent crop.
