I know the baghead that commented on one of my entries that is still in voting. This has never happened before but I received an email notifying me that I received a new comment on an entry. Usually I would only get an email if I get a comment on an entry that is not currently in voting. When I checked my entry the person selected to be a baghead so I shouldn't know but I do. Muh ha ha
You should not get an email notifying you of a new comment on a photo still in voting, regardless of the commenter's preferences. Perhaps you simultaneously received a comment on some past photo?
I just realised that the same thing happened to me with my "From the Ground Up" entry. I've had 3 comments from bagheads but only got an email about one of them.
very strange. in the free study my first comment was from the ubiquitous bag on head. for the second comment I received notification thereof, with the commenter's name; but it seems that subsequently that commenter has donned the bag.
Yep, me too. No leakage, methinks. Just a system glitch. My comment was on my FS entry. I wondered when I got it as I know the commenter to be someone who usually prefers to comment as a baghead. But I never tumbled to this. Just double checked. So . . . definite glitch.

Same exact situation for me and in the same challenge. 3 bag heads and got an email notification in regards to one.
Yep, same happened with me in the current Free Study. I have two comments, but from one person (who had her identity hidden during voting)) I also received a mail notification. Wanted to wait till the voting was over before mentioning it, but now you started this thread ...
I wonder if the two-week submission time is throwing the system off... and it thinks that the voting must be over when the comment arrives... so it sends an email...

I my case it was a comment on a FS, has nothing to do with the two-week submission adjustment.
Since I am new here, I didn't really know what a "baghead" was and I was even going to ask what that meant or if comments are not supposed to be left or something but now I can't stop laughing.. a baghead, LOL! I hope it's ok to laugh, :)
In your preferences you have the option to conceal your identity when making comments on photos currently in the voting stage; however your identity will be revealed once the voting concludes. This is designed mainly to prevent photographers from contacting you during the voting in an attempt to influence your vote.
When the photographer views a such an anonymous comment during the voting, your user icon will be replaced by a paper bag "mask" -- possibly in tribute to the New Orleans football fans of a bygone day when the "A'ints" were a truly bad team, and the fans who didn't want to be identified on TV donned the inexpensive disguise.

i noticed this early on in the voting for monthly freestudy, put in an item to the site council with attached screenshot on the 2nd, good to know I'm not the only one having this (sorry for being late to the party, went offline for the long weekend to do outdoorsy stuff, like golfing and working on my back deck) :)
